Wind farms have been set up to generate electricity throughout the U.S. and other locations around the globe. While their potential is great, they're not without opposition. Setting up a wind farm can be very costly. In addition to set-up costs, maintenance costs rise in low-wind seasons, when expensive backup power sources are required. Other objections include increased noise levels and an increase in bird deaths.
