What is China's relationship with Latin America?

China has reached out to Latin America as well for trade partners and resources. In fact, China has bypassed the United States as Brazil's number one trading partner, and is in second place to the U.S. in Argentina, Costa Rica, Chile, Peru and Venezuela. While China has made a dent in the oil supplies of Latin America, it has no military presence there.
