Two tools are necessary for anyone who wants to set up a teleconference:
- Conference bridge: This is a server that can receive thousands of calls at the same time and route them to their destination. If your company is large or does a lot of teleconferencing, you may already have your own bridge or decide to invest in one. If not, outside companies that can host conferences for you.
- Private branch exchange (PBX): Any company with an extensive phone network already has a PBX. It's a switch that directs calls to the appropriate phone extension within a phone network. After a conference bridge receives the calls for a teleconference, it then connects to a company's PBX.
