  1. As can be expected, the costs of climate change correlate directly to the level at which the environment is effected in a specific area. An area that is hit with multiple hurricanes in one year may suffer millions -- or billions -- of dollars in property damages, while an area subject to massive droughts may have to expend considerable amounts of money to stem the tide of famine. Climate change can even have a financial effect on people at the personal level; rising temperatures cause people to spend more money on things like electricity for air conditioning.
