How do I adjust my door's adjustable threshold?

  1. If your door has an adjustable threshold, you need to readjust it periodically because of wear and tear, time and the settling of the house. Remove the vinyl strip that covers the adjustor screws and turn them. (Replace the vinyl strip when you're finished.) You'll know the door is in the right place when you can't see any light coming in from underneath and when there is just a little bit of drag or resistance as the door passes over the threshold. Too much drag will make the vinyl strip and the door bottom start to wear out. If you need to replace a part, contact the door manufacturer for the right part instead of trying to find something similar in a hardware store.
