  1. Because of the intense level of heat generated by focused sunlight, solar cookers are not simply used for warming things up. Depending on the type of solar cooker you use, you can generate temperatures ranging from 180 degrees Fahrenheit (82 degrees Celsius) up tomore than 400 degrees F (204 degrees C). Not only is this more than hot enough to boil water, killing microorganisms that could make it unsafe to drink, it can also be used to fry a meal.
