The morning-after pill contains much more progestin, or progestin and estrogen, than the traditional birth control pill. The emergency contraception pill, as the morning-after pill is also called, is meant to prevent an embryo from being implanted. While some people consider the morning-after pill to be abortion-inducing, this is a minority view. The dominant medical viewpoint is that, since the emergency contraception pill acts before implantation, it shouldn’t be categorized as an abortifacient.
