The country that you live in can determine what kind of diseases are most prevalent. According to the World Health Organization, people in low-income countries die from infectious diseases such as lung infections, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, while people in high-income countries die from chronic, non-infectious diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancers, diabetes and dementia. In these high-income countries, the leading cause of infectious death is a lung infection.
