While the QWERTY setup is the most widely accepted keyboard layout in the modern world, there is one alternative that has been in use for some time. This layout, the Dvorak setup, is designed to minimize the distance your fingers travel while you type. It situates all the most often used letters in the home, or center, row of the keyboard, allowing access to them at all times. It also attempts to cause users to alternate hands when typing consecutive letters, theoretically making typing without error easier.
