  1. Liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) display uses a set of mirrors to separate light into the red, green and blue color spectrum. The LCoS display transmits light through a liquid crystal display and then reflects the light off of a mirror to create an image. When the light reflects back through the liquid crystals, the crystals create the light and dark values of the picture. Three separate devices add the basic colors of red, green and blue and a lens combines them to create the final image.
