The Datousaurus ("big-head lizard" or "chieftain lizard") was a sauropod found in Sichuan Province in China. It looked similar to the Late Jurassic sauropod Camarasaurus, to which it might have been related, though Datousaurus actually dates from the Middle Jurassic. It was some 50 feet (15 meters) long, and its long neck bones suggest it might have eaten leaves from plants that were even higher than the ones its contemporary, the Shunosaurus, could reach. Scientists have yet to find Datousaurus remains that include a skull.
