Experts guess that the British Ministry of Defense (MoD) considered employing psychics to help fight terror. Nick Pope, a retired MoD researcher guessed that the MoD might have considered using psychics to help locate Osama Bin Laden, or Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. When the British public found out that the MoD had invested some 18,000 pounds ($35,000) researching and evaluating psychic powers, they were quite upset. However, they should consider themselves lucky. America's CIA and NSA spent more than $20 million over the course of 20 years on psychic testing efforts. The American agencies were considering having psychics help locate lost children, fight the war against drugs and locate hidden weapons caches. The American military, it was reported in news outlets, even consulted with psychics regarding the best way to capture Saddam Hussein.
