Grass banking benefits both the landowner and the rancher. Ranchers benefit with fresh grass for their cattle while their own fields recover from heavy grazing; it's also cheaper for them than simply buying more land outright. Meanwhile, the landowners benefit by making money off of the banking, and also contributing to the process of land conservation. The process helps keep the land fertile and healthy by limiting the amount of damage ranchers and farmers can do, while simultaneously keeping the cattle market alive.
